Spring is quickly approaching and while there may still be some snow on the ground, it won’t stop the city of Steamboat from putting on exciting events for its residents and visitors. Whether these events are familiar to you or you’re looking to participate in something new and fun, Steamboat has a variety of activities for all ages.
March 16th – Steamboat Friday Nights is a weekly event, every Friday, that is fun for the whole family! Night skiing, boarding and live music will ensure your Friday nights are packed full of excitement!
April 1st-15th – Steamboat Springalicious Festival is the celebration of the close of the winter season. This festival includes the Cardboard Classic and several free music concerts fit for any age.
April 7th – The 10th Annual Cody’s Challenge allows participants to climb and descend trails across the Steamboat Ski Area utilizing specialized bindings and skins. All profits provide scholarships to assist professional Ski Patrollers in furthering their medical education.
April 7th – Red Ball Express is a race of over 100 large red exercise balls down a course. It gives participants an opportunity to win cash prizes up to $2,500. This also helps raise money to support youth programs within the county. A great event to gather the family around for some racing fun!
April 15th – Splashdown Pond Skimming Championships on closing day brings in the adventurous skiers and riders in costume daring enough to try skimming across the icy pond successfully!
June 3rd – The 37th Annual Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K is a beautiful way to kick off your summer by running along the Elk River and through the beautiful green pastures. This Marathon is considered to be one of the top 10 destination marathons in North America.
On top of all these incredible events and opportunities that get you involved in what Steamboat offers, there are so many more activities and smaller events to discover and indulge in that are great for kids, families, or adults only.
